[[Attorney review required before launch]]
This Privacy Policy explains how BAO ADVERTISING LLC ("FinanceToad," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, sells, and protects personal information when you visit FinanceToad.com, complete our forms, or otherwise interact with our services (the "Site"). Please read it carefully — by using the Site or submitting information through it, you acknowledge the practices described here, including our sharing and sale of your information to third-party partners.
About FinanceToad and the Scope of This Policy
FinanceToad is an independent, advertising-supported financing comparison and education resource and a lead-generation service. We are not a lender, bank, loan broker, or financial advisor, and we do not make credit decisions or originate, fund, or service any loan or financial product. We connect users with third-party lenders, financing companies, marketing partners, and advertisers ("Partners"). For more on how we earn money, see our Advertiser Disclosure.
This Policy applies to information we collect through the Site and our forms. It does not apply to the privacy practices of Partners or other third parties, who operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before sharing information with them.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
When you fill out a form, request a quote or match, subscribe to communications, or contact us, we may collect:
- Contact information — name, email address, phone number, mailing or ZIP-code address.
- Financing details — the type of financing you are seeking, requested amount, purpose, employment or income information you choose to share, and a self-reported credit band or credit-quality estimate.
- Consent records — your TCPA express written consent, the time and date of your submission, the page and IP address from which you submitted, and the text of the consent language you agreed to.
- Communications — the content of messages, support requests, survey responses, and other information you send us.
We generally do not ask you for full Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or full government ID numbers on our forms. Please do not submit such information to us.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Site, we and our analytics and advertising providers may automatically collect:
- Device and browser information (type, operating system, language, screen settings).
- IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, and similar tracking technologies.
- Advertising identifiers and online identifiers.
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, time on page, and interactions with forms.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive information about you from Partners, marketing and lead-generation networks, data providers, analytics vendors, advertising platforms, and publicly available sources. This may include verification, demographic, or supplemental data that we combine with information we already hold.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our services.
- Match you with, and refer you to, Partners that may offer products relevant to your stated financing needs.
- Facilitate Partners contacting you about offers, including by phone, text message, and email.
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- Send you marketing, newsletters, and promotional communications (subject to your choices below).
- Personalize content, offers, and advertising.
- Measure and analyze traffic, conversions, and the performance of our marketing and our Partners' marketing.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
How and Why We Share and Sell Your Information
This is the core of how our service works. When you submit a form on the Site, you authorize us to share, sell, and transfer your information to one or more Partners we match you with, and you understand those Partners may contact you using the information you provide. Partners have their own privacy policies that govern what they do with your information once they receive it; we are not responsible for their practices.
We share, sell, or otherwise disclose personal information as follows:
- Lenders and financing partners. We share or sell your contact and financing details with lenders, financing companies, and similar providers so they can evaluate, contact you about, and present offers. This may include multiple Partners for a single submission.
- Marketing and lead-buyer networks. We may sell or transfer leads (your contact and financing details) to lead-buyer networks, aggregators, and marketing partners who in turn may share them with their own downstream buyers and advertisers.
- Service providers and processors. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf — hosting, analytics, data verification, email/SMS delivery, customer support, and fraud prevention — under contracts limiting their use of the information.
- Affiliates and related entities. We may share information with companies under common ownership or control with us.
- Advertising and analytics partners. We allow certain partners to collect online identifiers and usage data through cookies and similar technologies for analytics and cross-context behavioral advertising. Under some state laws, this is considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
- Legal, safety, and compliance. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of FinanceToad, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor or acquirer.
Because we share and sell personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration and for cross-context behavioral advertising, we treat these activities as a "sale" and "sharing" under applicable US state privacy laws. See Your Privacy Choices: Do Not Sell or Share.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure performance, and deliver targeted advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of certain advertising cookies through industry tools such as the NAI, DAA, and Your Online Choices opt-out programs.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for users in states that recognize it. Where GPC is detected, we apply the opt-out to the browser and, where feasible, to associated identifiers.
Your Choices and Marketing Opt-Outs
- Email. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS from us; reply HELP for help. Note that opting out of FinanceToad messages does not opt you out of messages from Partners — you must contact each Partner separately.
- Phone calls. You may ask us to stop calling you. Partners that contact you must honor your separate requests to them.
- Cookies and ads. Use the browser and opt-out tools described above and our Do Not Sell or Share page.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional or service-related messages.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share, sell, or disclose it.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. Submit a request through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or by emailing privacy@financetoad.com.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (to the extent we use any such information for non-permitted purposes).
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

Other US State Privacy Rights
If you reside in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to: confirm whether we process your data; access, correct, and delete your data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of (a) targeted advertising, (b) the sale of personal data, and (c) certain profiling.
- Sensitive data. Where required, we obtain consent or provide a right to limit the processing of sensitive data. We ask that you not submit sensitive data to us beyond a self-reported credit band.
- Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@financetoad.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within the timeframe required by your state's law.
How to Exercise Your Rights and Verification
Submit requests by emailing privacy@financetoad.com or using the methods on our Do Not Sell or Share page. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching information you provide against information we hold, and we may request additional information for higher-risk requests. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization; we may still verify your identity directly.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including providing services, complying with legal and recordkeeping obligations (such as TCPA consent records), resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or aggregate it.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You transmit information to us at your own risk.
Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@financetoad.com and we will delete it.
Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we do not respond to DNT signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described above.
Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to Partner and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing information.
Financial-Data Note
We are not a lender and do not make credit decisions, set rates, or guarantee approval. Any rates, terms, or offers you receive come from Partners and are governed by their disclosures and agreements. Always review a Partner's terms before accepting any financial product.
International Users / US-Only
The Site is intended for users in the United States. We do not direct our services to individuals outside the US. If you access the Site from outside the US, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "updated" date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
